WHAT IS IT

What is an annual summit?

The summit is the highest point of a hill or mountain. To reach the summit requires planning, intentionality, and purpose. The climb probably isn't easy, but it's usually always worth the effort! From the summit you can see in all directions. The view is amazing!

Creating an annual summit rhythm is a lot like climbing a mountain. The purpose is to gain perspective on your everyday habits and rhythms, to discover where you want to go, and to make plans and adjustments for how to get there.

In short, the summit experience is your opportunity to live your life on purpose--to reflect on yesterday, to dream about tomorrow, and to plan for today!

How to craft your summit experience:

1. Consider your why. Why do you want to do a summit? How will it bless you?

2. Discuss it with your team. Your team may be your spouse, your family, your small group, or your closest friends. Give them an opportunity to get on the same page and to take ownership in the process. Life is always better together!

3. Craft your summit experience. Discuss how long it will take, where you will gather, when you will do it, who will be involved, and how you will celebrate. The summit is meant to enrich your team with depth and joy. Have fun with it!

4. Set a date and location. This is essential! Whether you do it in a day, a weekend, or over the course of the week, just be sure to schedule it on the calendar. Earlier in the year or at the beginning of fall are usually good times.

5. Gather your supplies. Be sure to grab your journals, calendars, planners, photos, pens, pencils, blankets, fidget spinners, music and extra paper! You do what works best for you to slow down, engage, and invest.

6. Have fun and make some memories!
